A scenic and challenging 18-hole links course in Dunbar, offering spectacular views of the Firth of Forth, Bass Rock, and the Isle of May.
Located in the seaside town of Dunbar on Scotland's Golf Coast, Winterfield Golf Club is a true hidden gem. Established in the 1930s and designed by Sir Clair Cunningham, the course offers an exceptional 18-hole links experience characterized by its natural beauty and breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth, the iconic Bass Rock, and the Lammermuir Hills.
Although relatively short in total distance (Par 65, 5,142 yards), Winterfield is a demanding test of accuracy and course management. It is famous for its collection of eight challenging par 3s. The opening hole, 'Whelkie Haugh', immediately sets the tone, requiring a daunting 200+ yard carry over a dramatic coastal ravine to reach the green.
While the front nine tests your resolve, the back nine provides abundant rewards with a stretch of holes looking out toward Belhaven Beach. Winterfield provides a fun, informal, and photogenic round of traditional Scottish links golf.
