A unique Harry Colt design on East Lothian's Golf Coast, blending classic links challenges with sheltered woodland holes.
Longniddry Golf Club is situated on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, just 18 miles east of Edinburgh. Formed in 1921, the course is a classic test of golf that occupies a unique position on the Golf Coast—it is the closest links course to the capital, yet it features a distinct blend of links and parkland/woodland terrain.
Designed by the legendary Harry Colt, Longniddry is an 18-hole, par 68 layout. It is highly unusual in that it features no par 5s, demanding consistent ball striking and accuracy rather than brute length. The course offers a spectacular variety of holes, transitioning from pure links turf with sea views to holes lined by pine trees, providing a sheltering woodland feel rare for this coastline. It is a regular host for Open Championship qualifying.
