Indonesia's oldest golf club, established in 1872. This historic 18-hole parkland course offers a classic golfing experience in the heart of East Jakarta.
Steeped in history, the Jakarta Golf Club holds the prestigious title of being the oldest golf course in Indonesia and one of the oldest in all of Asia. Established in 1872 by British expatriates A. Gray and T.C. Wilson, it was originally known as the Batavia Golf Club and was located in the Gambir area. In 1934, the course relocated to its current home in the Rawamangun district of East Jakarta, eventually adopting its current name in 1950.
The 18-hole, par-71 layout is a classic parkland design spanning 36 hectares. While modest in overall length, playing just under 6,000 meters, it demands accuracy and strategic course management. The fairways are tightly framed by mature, towering trees, and water hazards come into play on several holes. It is a traditional course that emphasizes precision and shot placement over brute strength, rewarding smart play and providing a tranquil escape from the bustling city.
