U.S. Junior Amateur Champion & Professional Golfer
Philip Barbaree, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, emerged as one of the top junior golfers in the U.S. in 2015. That year, he won the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions — setting a 72-hole scoring record — and captured the U.S. Junior Amateur title after an epic comeback from 5 down, winning on the 37th hole. He also represented the United States at the Spirit International, where he claimed three gold medals (team, individual, and four-ball).
Barbaree committed to LSU for collegiate golf and enrolled in the spring of 2017. He played for the LSU Tigers, where he recorded strong seasons (including a 72.19 scoring average) and contributed to the program. In November 2020, he turned professional, foregoing a traditional four-year collegiate completion. Since then, he has competed on the developmental circuits (e.g., mini-tours, PGA Tour Americas) and continues his pursuit of a first major professional victory — a journey underpinned by early promise and perseverance.
Philip Barbaree's decorated amateur career and ongoing professional journey demonstrate the long-term commitment required for success in golf. His story highlights how junior golf achievements can lay the groundwork for a continued pursuit of excellence at higher levels.
