The Early Years

Ines Laklalech, born on October 30, 1997, in Casablanca, Morocco, discovered golf at the age of ten, introduced to the sport by her father. Her talent quickly flourished, leading her to join the Moroccan Women’s National Team at just twelve years old. She went on to represent Morocco in major amateur events such as the African Championship, the Pan Arab Championship, and the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.

After completing her French Baccalauréat in 2015, Laklalech played collegiate golf at Wake Forest University before continuing her academic studies at University College London. She turned professional in December 2021 after earning full playing status on the Ladies European Tour through Qualifying School.

Laklalech made history in 2022 by winning the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, becoming the first Moroccan—and the first Arab and North African woman—to claim a title on the Ladies European Tour. Her breakthrough season continued as she earned LPGA Tour membership for 2023, marking another first for an Arab golfer.
