The Early Years

Esther Henseleit, born on January 14, 1999, in Varel, Germany, began playing golf at the age of eight or nine under the guidance of her mother. She built an outstanding amateur résumé, earning a bronze medal at the 2016 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, finishing runner-up at the 2018 European Ladies Amateur Championship, and winning the 2018 German National Amateur. Prior to turning professional, she held one of the lowest recorded handicaps in Europe at +7.1.

Henseleit turned professional in January 2019 after a strong showing at the LET Qualifying School. She earned her first professional win on the LET Access Series at the 2019 Skaftö Open. Her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour was historic: she won the season-ending 2019 Magical Kenya Ladies Open and became only the third player to capture both the LET Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year titles in the same season. She earned her LPGA Tour card for 2020 through the Q-Series.

Henseleit continued her rise by successfully defending her Magical Kenya Ladies Open title in 2022. In 2024, she delivered two top-10 finishes in major championships (T7 at both the Chevron Championship and the Amundi Evian Championship) and made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning the silver medal — Germany’s first-ever Olympic medal in golf.
