Albane Valenzuela, born on December 17, 1997, in New York City, has a rich multicultural background with a Mexican father and French mother. She started playing golf at age three in Mexico. Valenzuela became a Swiss citizen at age 14 in 2012. She had a successful amateur career, including taking low amateur honors at the 2016 ANA Inspiration and making the cut at the 2016 U.S. Women's Open. She also reached the final of the U.S. Women's Amateur twice, in 2017 and 2019. Valenzuela played collegiate golf at Stanford University, graduating in 2020 with a degree in political science, and was named Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2019.
Valenzuela turned professional in late 2019 after earning her LPGA Tour card through Q-Series. She has consistently represented Switzerland at the Olympic Games, participating in Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024. Albane achieved her best major finish with a tied-fourth place at the 2023 Chevron Championship and recorded a runner-up finish at the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand. Beyond golf, she is also the co-founder of Alexis For Autism, a charity named after her brother.
